Girls Prep Division II Poll
Like their counterparts in Division I, there wasn’t much action this week, thanks primarily to a Saturday snowstorm.
#1 Rivers (10-4-1) lost a nailbiter to D1 BB&N (3-2), then needed OT to edge Groton (2-1), as their hold on the top spot is loosening a bit. This week, the Red Wings have a make-up game with Brooks (Monday) and play Thayer (Wednesday).
#2 Worcester Academy (10-3-2) toppled Pingree (4-1) in its only action (a Saturday game with NYA was postponed). The Hilltoppers get Brooks (Wednesday) and then Kingswood (Saturday).
With Saturday’s postponement of a game versus Holderness, #3 Southfield (7-2-2) did not play this game. They get back into action against Governor’s Academy (Wednesday) and Brooks (Saturday).
By virtue of a 4-2 win, Gunnery (5-4-1) jumps over Canterbury into the #4 spot. The Highlanders have a busy week scheduled with Taft (Monday), Berkshire (Wednesday) and Westminster (Saturday), all D-1 opponents.
The Saints (7-2-1), now at #5 get Rye Country Day Wednesday in its only scheduled action. Canterbury does need to make up Saturday’s postponed tilt with Kingswood.
#6 Berwick (13-1-1) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 2-1 setback to North Yarmouth Academy. A Saturday game with KUA was snowed out, but three opponents loom this week in Newton Country Day (Wednesday), Exeter (Friday) and Winsor (Saturday).
Hebron (11-6-0) knocked off Proctor, 3-2, on Saturday to flip-flop with the Hornets in the poll, moving from #8 to #7. The Lumberjacks are off until Saturday when they face off with Exeter.
Proctor (8-5-0), meanwhile, bounced back from Saturday’s loss to Hebron with a 5-2 win over Kents Hill Sunday. The Hornets are scheduled to play Tilton Tuesday and NYA on Wednesday
