The much-anticipated showdown between the top two ranked teams (Kent and Williston) did not come to fruition on Saturday thanks to a snowstorm. And, neither did the battle between #4 Loomis Chaffee and #5 Pomfret).
Neither game has been rescheduled as of yet, and since they aren’t league games, they may not get rescheduled.
With most of Saturday’s games wiped out, there wasn’t much action this week.
#1 Kent (11-0-1) did beat Pomfret (2-0) in a big game to solifidy its top spot. They have another biggie on Wednesday when they take on Choate. Saturday’s opponent will be Taft.
#2 Williston (11-0-2) did not play at all this week (A Wednesday game with Kingswood was also postponed). They also have a battle on their hands Wednesday with a game against Westminster. Hotchkiss is on the docket for Saturday.
In its only action this week, #3 Nobles (12-2-1) beat Brewster Academy, 6-1. Saturday’s game with Phillips Exeter was postponed. This week the ‘Dawgs get Lawrence Academy (Wednesday) and Cushing (Friday).
Loomis Chaffee (8-2-3) moved up a spot as the Pelicans blanked Taft (3-0). A second game with the Rhinos is scheduled for Wednesday, followed by game with Brewster Academy (Friday) and Greenwich Academy (Saturday).
#5 Pomfret (10-2-2) lost to Kent and looks to get on the winning track this week against Deerfield (Wednesday) and Northfield (Saturday).
#6 St. Paul’s (12-1-0) blanked Thayer (6-0) before Saturday’s postponement (supposed to play Milton Academy). The Big Red will try Northfield (Wednesday) and Winchendon (Saturday).
#7 Westminster (7-1-5) was one of the few teams that did play Saturday, blanking Hotchkiss, 3-0. The Martlets also beat Millbrook this week. After tangling with Williston Wednesday, Westy gets Gunnery on Saturday.
#8 Choate (9-4-1) beat Deerfield this week (4-1) and look forward to Wednesday’s Kent showdown. Brewster Academy is Saturday’s opponent.
Andover (9-4-1) stay put at #9, as does Tabor (9-4-0) at #10. The Big Blue were tied by Lawrence Academy (5-5) while the Seawolves took care of St. George’s (3-1) in their last game before exams. Andover will play Cushing (Wednesday) and Deerfield (Saturday).
