Girls Prep D2 Poll
Two tough road games are on tap for Rivers (12-3-5), the #1 team again in this week’s HNIB News Girls D2 Prep Top 8.
The Redwings, who lost to Tabor (3-1) before rebounding against Milton (3-0), travel to Worcester Academy (Wednesday) and St. Mark’s (Friday).
Kimball Union (12-3-2) sneaks into this week’s poll #2 spot. The Wildcats tied up Proctor (1-1) in their only action of the week. They tangle with D1 Exeter on Wednesday and then Berwick Academy on Saturday.
#3 Worcester Academy (12-4-1) needed a last second goal to tie Southfield (2-2), then fell by a goal to Winchendon (2-1). The Hilltoppers hope for a solid effort against Rivers, then get Vermont Academy on Saturday.
#4 Canterbury (11-5-4) blanked both D1 Taft (2-0) and Lawrenceville (2-0) in its only action of the week. The Saints will tackle D1 #2 Kent Wednesday, before taking a trip to Exeter for weekend games with Hebron (Saturday) and Kents Hill (Sunday).
#5 Gunnery (8-9-1) fell to D1 #4 Loomis Chaffee (6-2) in its only game of the week. Looking ahead, the Highlanders have a busy week with Millbrook (Wednesday), Vermont Academy (Friday) and Greenwich Academy (Saturday) on the docket.
#6 Thayer (13-5-3) had a split week, beating Brooks (3-1) before falling to Milton Academy (4-3). The Tigers will see Governors Academy (Wednesday) and Lawrence Academy (Saturday).
Tilton (13-6-3) remains at #7. The Rams battled hard in a loss to New Hampton (3-1), then beat Hoosac (2-0) and Pingree (8-1). Tilton will be at Vermont Academy (Wednesday) in its only action.
