Bad weather wiped out the anticipated showdown between Millbrook and Gunnery (now rescheduled for February 17), so there isn’t much movement at all in this week’s HNIB News Girls Prep Division II poll. In fact, nobody moved up or down this past week.
#1 Millbrook (12-2-1) picked up a huge 3-1 win over D-1 Kent on Saturday, with Melissa Sheeran scoring all three goals in

the third period, on two shifts. The Mustangs do have a busy upcoming week, hosting Canterbury Wednesday at 2:30pm (the Saints also beat Kent this week), and then traveling to Lawrenceville on Saturday (4:30pm).
#2 Gunnery (13-5-1) edged Kingswood, 1-0, on Saturday and actually is off until the Millbrook game on February 17th.
#3 Rivers (11-4-0) kept pace, picking up a pair of wins against Division i counterparts – Cushing (5-3) and St. Mark’s (3-0). The Red Wings are at Governor’s Academy Wednesday (3:45pm) and host Proctor on Saturday (4:00pm) in an important Division II clash.
#4 Middlesex (9-6-1) held its own in a 5-2 loss to St. Paul’s, and then rebounded with a 4-1 win over Milton Academy. The Zebras are at Lawrence Academy Wednesday (3 pm) and then have a pair of key Division II battles with Brooks Friday and at Southfield Saturday.
#5 Brooks rebounded from a loss to Phillips Andover with a 3-2 OT win over St. George’s to stay in the mix. The Bishops host Groton Wednesday and also will be at Tabor on Saturday (3:30pm) to take on D-1’s #3 ranked club.
#6 Proctor (16-6-1) and #7 Southfield (8-5-3) skated to a 1-1 standoff that didn’t settle very much. The Hornets also doubled up on Holderness, 4-2. Proctor hosts Hebron on Wednesday (4:30 pm). They also have four games next week, the last week of the regular season.
Southfield is scheduled to play three times this week: New Hampton (Wednesday), at Winchendon on Friday (4:00pm) and then against Middlesex Saturday.
#8 Worcester Academy (14-5-2) beat Vermont Academy, 7-0, on Saturday and plays three home games this week against Winchendon (Wednesday), St. George’s (Friday) and North Yarmouth (Saturday).
