Coach Liz Cohen starts her first full year as head coach of the Rams, who feature a roster full of multi-sport athletes. Cohen likes her team’s positive outlook, great team foundation and energy.
Senior tri-captains Emma Boudreau, Molly Shaw (a D1 lacrosse commit to UMass Lowell) and Kyleigh Timcoe will be offensive leaders. Seniors Brenna Ames and Emily Stockless and juniors Maisey Carroll and Meaghan Kinsella are back as well. The sophomore group includes Emma Kennedy, Gwyn O’Sullivan, Maddie Ames and Maddie Mosca.
On the blue line, senior Megan Powers will be the anchor, with help from juniors Amelia Rounbehler and Mary Kelly. Sophomore Catie Lillis is a returning goaltender.
It may be a rebuilding year for the Clippers, as graduation and losses to prep school took all but eight goals. Some of the younger players will need to contribute right away.
Senior Jacquie Tallino and freshman Sam McKenzie (12 pts) will be relied on by coach Brian Ferreira to get the offense going.
Defensively, senior Hannah Tobey (9 pts) and sophomore Abby Roman will see a lot of time. The goaltending minutes go to either senior Theo Karplus or junior Shayla Sisters.
CAPE COD FURIES (2-15-1)
This team is excited to get the season going, looking to improve over last year’s two-win season.
Juniors Kira Ridley and Jodi Wahtola will have important roles up front for coach Addie Weeks. Freshman Eve Abboud will get involved offensively as well.
Senior Breanna Kinder, junior Margaret Dickson and sophomore Nikki Awalt provide solid experience on the back line. Some nice depth comes from incoming freshmen Julia Weiner and Charlotte Manganaro.
In the nets, senior Molly McKenna returns from last winter’s varsity club.
* Dennis-Yarmouth and Sandwich are also in the Atlantic Coast League this winter. No info was available on either team at time of post.
