The 2018-19 regular season is over and it is on to the playoffs. As usual the Division 2 sectionals should be highly competitive.

Kudos to Canton (20-0-1) which held the #1 spot in the HNIB News Massachusetts Boys D2 Top 15 the entire season. The Bulldogs, came oh so close to a perfect regular season, settling for a 2-2 tie with #5 Boston Latin (14-3-3). Let’s see if that is enough to get Canton a Super 8 play-in game.

#2 Lincoln-Sudbury (17-2-2) and #3 Westwood (13-1-6) both had outstanding campaigns under first-year head coaches Matt Carlin and Matt Sebet and will be tough outs in the post-season.

#4 Masconomet (18-2-0) saw its 17-game winning streak halted in a 2-0 loss to Danvers, but rebounded nicely closing its regular season with a 4-2 conquest of D1 Melrose.

Boston Latin is one team nobody wants to see in the post-season. The Wolfpack have been on quite a run in the second half of the season.

NEC North champions Winthrop (14-4-2) rides into the post-season at #6.
