Massachusetts Boys Division 1 Top 20
After a dominant week at the Buddy Ferreira Classic, BC High (16-2-2) moves back into the top spot in this final regular season HNIB News Massachusetts Boys Division 1 Top 20. The Eagles won their fourth straight Classic, blanking Falmouth (4-0), #5 Austin Prep (2-0) and and #3 Hingham (3-0). Since a loss to Framingham and tie with Pope Francis, BC High is 7-0 and outscored its opponents by a 34-6 margin.
#2 Pope Francis (15-1-3) won its Cardinal Classic, but needed an overtime period to edge #8 St. Mary’s 3-2 in a game that officially goes down as a tie. They look forward to another meeting (or perhaps two) in the upcoming Super 8 tournament.
Hingham (17-4-1) stays at #3, even with the loss to BC High. The Harbormen also beat Duxbury and Arlington Catholic at the Ferreira Classic.
Arlington (14-3-3) is back up to #4 heading into the post-season, taking its own Ed Burn Classic with an impressive 9-3 win over Andover.
#5 Austin Prep rebounded from the loss to BC High by blanking #7 Duxbury 2-0 in the third place game at the Ferreira Classic.
#6 Framingham (17-3-2) finished strong, winning the Cahoon Cup over the past week.
