Final Regular Season Maine Class B Top 10: Greely, Old Town Earn Top Seeds In Regional Brackets

The No. 1 Greely Rangers capped the regular season with a 6-1 victory over Yarmouth on Tuesday while defeating Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester  3-1 Thursday in the season finale. They earned a bye into the regional semifinals of the Class B south playoffs where they await the winner of the No.4-5 matchup as the Kings host Gorham.

No. 2 Presque Isle defeated Brewer on Monday 6-2. They enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in B North where they host John Bapst in the regional quarterfinals.

No. 3 Waterville/Winslow earned a big 6-4 victory over Old Town/Orono on Tuesday. They will be the No. 2 seed in the B North playoffs and earned a bye into the regional semifinals where they await the John Bapst/Presque Isle winner.

No. 4 Cape Elizabeth capped the regular season off with 7-1 win over Yarmouth on Monday. The same two teams meet in the regional quarterfinals with Cape being the No. 2 seed.

No. 5 Old Town/Orono will be the No. 1 seed in B North despite the loss to Waterville/Winslow. They get a bye into the regional semifinals where they will take on either Camden Hills or Hampden Academy.

No.  6 York defeated Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain 7-1 on Monday and Brunswick 6-2 on Thursday. They will take on the same Brunswick Dragons team in the regional quarterfinals as the No. 3 seed in the B South playoffs.

Camden Hills move up to the No. 7 spot with a 1-0 victory over John Bapst on Monday and a 9-3 win over Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin on Wednesday. They host Hampden Academy in the No. 4-5 contest in the B North playoffs.

No. 8 Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester dropped a 3- 0 decision to Greely in the regular season finale. They host the No. 5 Gorham Rams in the B South quarterfinals.

No. 9 Hampden Academy finished the regular season with a 8-2 win over Messalonskee. They travel as No. 5 in the B North playoffs to Camden Hills in the regional quarterfinals.

Gorham moves to No. 10 with a 11-0 win over Kennebunk/Wells on Wednesday. They travel to take on the Kings in the B South quarterfinals.
