Final Regular Season Maine Class A Top 10: Lewiston Keeps #1 Ranking Heading Into the Post-Season

 Lewiston finished up the regular season as the No. 1 team in Class A with a 4-2 win over Falmouth. They are the No. 1 seed in Class A North and receive a bye into the regional semifinals where they await the winner of No. 4 Edward Little-No. 5 Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde quarterfinal.

No. 2 St. Dom’s defeated Bangor 3-1 in the final regular season contest. They are the No. 2 seed in Class A North and also received a bye into the regional semifinals. They await the winner of the Bangor-Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth quarterfinal.

No. 3 Bangor bounced back from the loss to St. Dom’s with a 6-1 over Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth to end the season. The same two teams meet in the regional quarterfinals with Bangor being the No. 3 seed in A North.

No. 4 Biddeford had the week off. They enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in A South. They will take on Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard Beach in the regional quarterfinals.

Edward Little remains at No. 5 easily defeating Lawrence/Skowhegan/MCI. They will have home-ice advantage in the No. 4-No.5 matchup against  Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde in the regional quarterfinal.

No. 6 Thornton Academy defeated Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills 8-0 which helped them clinch the No. 1 seed in the A South playoffs. They await the winner of the Portland/Deering-Scarborough quarterfinal as they begin their playoffs with a bye.

No. 7 South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete defeated Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard 2-0 in their regular season finale. They open the A South playoffs as the No. 3 seed and will host Cheverus in the regional quarterfinals.

No. 8 Scarborough split the home and home with Portland/Deering losing Monday 3-1 and winning the season finale on Thursday 5-2. The same two teams will meet in the A South regional quarterfinals in the No 4-5 matchup with Scarborough hosting as the No. 4 seed.

No. 9 Cheverus had the week off and will take on the No. 3 seeded South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete to start the A South playoffs.

No. 10. Portland/Deering enters the poll again with the split against Scarborough. They face the Red Storm for the third straight game to open the playoffs.
