It would have been a great battle had Austin Prep and Woburn been able to play for the MIAA Girls Division 1 state title. Many felt it would have been a meeting of two evenly-matched clubs. Unfortunately, other circumstances caused the cancellation of all MIAA state final games.

Since it entered the post-season at the top of our rankings, Austin Prep (22-1-2 overall) gets the #1 slot in this our end-of-the-season Massachusetts Girls Division 1 Top 10.
The Cougars advanced to the title game with post-season wins over Franklin (3-0), Andover (8-3), #9 Belmont (3-0) and #3 Braintree (2-1).
With its post-season run including wins over the Cape Cod Furies (4-0), #10 Methuen/Tewksbury (5-0), #4 St. Mary’s (2-1) and #5 Boston Latin (2-0), Woburn (19-2-2) moves up to finish at #2.
Braintree, which finished with 20 wins, led Austin Prep in a semifinal matchup into the third period.
#6 HPNA, which entered the post-season undefeated, ends up at 18-1-2 after being upset by Hingham in its opening round game.
