To show you how close things were in Girls Division I prep school hockey, the teams ranked #7 and #8 heading into the post-season ended up in the title game.
That game was won by St.Paul’s (22-4-2), which gave the Big Red the D1 New England title and also gives them the #1 ranking in this HNIB News final Girls Prep Division I poll. St. Paul’s knocked off both the third-seed and second-seed in the post-season.
#2 Pomfret (18-6-2) also reached the final before falling to St. Paul’s. The Griffins took down top-seeded and unbeaten Kent in the semifinal round.
Kent (20-1-1) couldn’t finish off an unbeaten campaign and ends up third, while Williston (20-1-4), which also entered the post-season unbeaten before falling to St. Paul’s, is in the fourth spot.
Nobles (24-3-2) rounds out the top five. The ‘Dawgs were also a victim of St. Paul’s in the post-season.
