Way to go, Top 10. Only one team in this week’s HNIB News EMass D3 Top 10 poll lost this past week – Northeast Regional – and that was to another Top 10 team, East Boston. It was a good week, indeed.

No. 1 Hanover blanked Quincy with ease, 5-0, and tied Scituate, which is 12-1-1 in Division 2.

No. 2 Hopkinton remained unbeaten with a 4-1 win over Medfield, the defending D2 state champs, completing the season sweep of Medfield. It also beat Norton, 6-1.

No. 3 Old Rochester/Fairhaven took care of Bourne, 5-0, an impressive win over a team that’s shown occasional brilliance this season.

No. 4 Swampscott blanked Weston, 2-0, in a North battle. It was the Big Blue’s 11th straight.

No. 5 Rockland is still unbeaten after a two victories and tie. It beat Abington, 5-1, and Middleboro/Hull, 3-2, and tied Cohasset, 2-2. The Bulldogs clinched their first South Shore League title in 24 years.

No. 6 Latin Academy downed O’Bryant, 7-1.

No. 7 East Boston swept its week with a solid 3-2 win over fellow Top 10 team Northeast and also topped Essex Tech, 5-2.

No. 8 Southeastern/West Bridgewater picked up a couple wins and scored 15 goals doing so, 7-4 over Tri-County and 8-2 over Sacred Heart.

No. 9 Nantucket remained unbeaten with three wins this past week. It beat Martha’s Vineyard, 5-3, Diman, 6-2, and South Shore Voke Tech, 11-1.

No. 10 Northeast Regional fell to East Boston, 3-2, and rebounded with a 9-1 victory over Nashoba Valley Tech.
