The EMass D3 South semifinals are set as 21 teams have been reduced to the Final Four. No. 1 Hanover (21-0-1) meets No. 20 Ashland (12-9-2) in the first semifinal matchup at Gallo Arena in Bourne Friday at 5:30 p.m. No. 2 Hopkinton (19-2-1) faces off in the nightcap against No. 3 Rockland (19-2-3) set for 7:45 p.m. at Gallo. The matchups took shape after Ashland upset No. 5 Bourne, 2-1, and Rockland handled Greater New Bedford Tech with ease, 5-0, in last night’s quarterfinals.

Evan Gormley notched a hat trick as the Bulldogs blanked GNBVT. Zach Callahan and Joe Campanile also had a goal for Rockland, and Michael Flaherty, Kevin Fennell and Jake Lauria were offensive contributors. Rockland goalie Harry O’Brien earned the shutout. GNBVT finishes 12-9-1.
Ashland 2, Bourne 1
Call him Mr. March. Junior defenseman Jackson Hornung scored another two goals — he now has seven goals and four assists in the postseason — and upstart Ashland is headed to the semis. Sophomore forward Brian Gazzard had two assists, and Ashland goalie Mike Lowd got the win, shutting out Bourne for 44:48 until the Canalmen added a late goal with their goalie pulled. Owen Lapworth had the Bourne goal. Bourne finishes 15-5-2.
