The top three in the HNIB News EMass Division 3 boys hockey poll remained untouched for another week. That’s because they find ways to win — or not lose.
Hanover kept the top spot as it has all season. The Indians this past week beat Duxbury and Scituate each by 3-2 scores. Hanover’s now outscored opponents, 77-22.
Dartmouth is still shining, and is still unbeaten. The team only had one game last week, and it ended up being a 2-2 tie with Bridgewater-Raynham.
Norwell is ever-so dangerous. The Clippers beat Abington, 8-0, and then nipped Weymouth, 5-4. They are almost at 100 goals for the season at 94 and have only allowed 22.
HS-Festival-Ad-300x150Lowell Catholic took over the top spot of teams from the North Sectional. They beat Matignon, 5-1, and picked up their 10th win.
Sacred Heart bumped up a spot after a solid week. The team beat Tri-County, 5-3, and Dennis-Yarmouth, 4-1.
Another team to bump up a spot after an effective week was Hopkinton. The Hillers outscored two foes this past week, 10-2. They beat Holliston, 5-0, and Bellingham, 5-2.
Lynn fell a few spots. The Jets suffered their first two losses of the winter and lost their chance at the Northeastern Conference South title. They lost to Division 2 power Marblehead, 8-0, then fell to Gloucester, 2-1, in a game that decided the NEC South.
The Nos. 8 and 9 teams cracked into the top 10 after being left out last week. Rockland re-enters  at No. 8. All five of their losses have been to ranked teams.
Cohasset returns to our top 10, having won three in a row, including a 6-2 win over then HNIB News Top 10 squad Weston (they got the boot this week).
Nantucket finishes off the top 10 at 10-3-1. They tied St. John’s Paul II this past week, 2-2.
