We had some movement in this week’s top 10 HNIB News EMass Division 3 poll.

But none at the very top.

Hanover remains the season-long No. 1 with a 9-1-0 mark. The Indians held serve this week and beat Silver Lake, 9-0, and Whitman-Hanson, 6-2. It helps when you’ve only allowed 10 goals in 10 games.

Dartmouth returns at No. 2. These Indians stand as the only unbeaten team in the South region as of Jan. 17. Dartmouth nipped D1 foe Barnstable, 3-2, and easily handled Apponequet/Connolly, 5-1, this past week.

HNIB-Ad-for-MassHShockey_2016Norwell is a team that simply continues to thrive. The defending South champion Clippers, dating back to last season, are 30-4-3. This year, they stand at 9-2-0 after a solid 2-1 win over Cohasset.

Lowell Catholic tied Groton-Dunstable, 3-3, and beat St. Bernard’s, 6-4, this past week. The Crusaders host D1 Matignon on Wednesday.

The other unbeaten team in Division 3, Lynn of the Northeastern Conference, continues to roll. The Jets came out of this past week at 8-0-1 after beating Gloucester, 1-0, and Revere/Malden, 4-1. Goalie Jack Stafford has a .977 save percentage and 0.56 GAA.

Sacred Heart bumps up a couple spots to No. 6 after a week in which it outscored foes, 22-1. The Saints of Kingston have 64 goals on the year now and have only lost to Rockland. Recently, forward John Quinn cracked the 100 career point plateau.

Speaking of Rockland, we dropped them a spot after a 2-1 week. The team lost to Cohasset but easily handled East Bridgewater, 11-1, and Hull/Middleboro, 7-1.

Hopkinton drops a spot to No. 8 after a split of its games this week. The Hillers lost to Medway (6-2-2 in Division 2), 3-1, but beat defending Mass. D2 state champ Westwood, 2-1.

Nantucket moves up a spot after another solid win, this one a 4-1 decision of South Shore Regional.

Cohasset jumps back into the top 10. The Sailors are only a game over .500 but gave Norwell everything they had in a 2-1 loss Saturday. They also beat Rockland, 5-3.
