EMass Division 3 Top 10 Poll

No. 1 Hanover made yet another statement in its quest for an unbeaten season. The Indians knocked off new Division 3 entrant Coyle & Cassidy, 4-2, in Raynham Saturday.
No. 2 Rockland, meanwhile, held serve at No. 2 with a 3-1 win over Hull/Middleboro in Bridgewater the same day.
Our top North team, No. 3 Lowell, was idle most of the week until its 4-4 tie against Wayland on Sunday.
No. 4 Holliston knocked off Ashland, 4-1, and Dedham, 2-1, and has now won eight of its last nine.
No. 5 Hopkinton beat Dover-Sherborn, 5-1, and lost to Medfield, 5-2. We’re not going to penalize the Hillers too much for the Medfield loss. The Warriors are 9-2-2 in Division 2 and are in second in the Tri-Valley League behind Holliston.
No. 6 Bourne continues to dominate on the Cape. The Canalmen sailed to victories over Apponequet/Connolly, 5-0, and Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk, 9-1. They are 7-0-1 in their last eight.
No. 7 Coyle & Cassidy tied Division 2’s Bishop Feehan, 2-2, and fell to top-ranked Hanover.
No. 8 Norwell has to be considered a sleeper in the South. It is now 8-2-2 after wins over East Bridgewater, 5-0, and Cohasset, 3-0. It hasn’t lost since a 5-0 setback to Scituate Dec. 17. Norwell has a rematch with Rockland (they tied, 4-4, Jan. 10) on Feb. 3 in Rockland.
No. 10 Cambridge suffered a 3-1 loss to No. 9 St. Joseph Prep/Marian. SJP/Marian jumps in front of Cambridge due to that victory. SJP lost to defending Division 2 champion Lowell Catholic, 4-1, in the next game. Meanwhile, Cambridge bounced back with wins over Newton South (4-1) and Weston (8-1).
