Doug Bonjour joined Hockey Night in Boston in November 2022. He has covered high school and college sports in Connecticut for more than a decade, including stints as the UConn women’s basketball and UConn football beat reporter for Hearst Connecticut Media. During his time reporting on the 11-time national champion Huskies, he covered three NCAA Final Fours. He previously was a general assignment reporter for GameTimeCT and the Connecticut Post, and covered high school sports statewide, including boys hockey. North Haven was simply dominant. The Nighthawks are #1 in the final 2022-23 HNIB News Connecticut Division II Top 8 after beating Woodstock Academy in overtime for the state title.

#2 Woodstock Academy had a tremendous season. It just couldn’t beat North Haven. 

#3 Westhill/Stamford went 19-5, won the FCIAC Division II title and reached the state quarterfinals. Well done. 

#4 Branford improved by 11 wins this season and reached the state semifinals, where it lost to Woodstock.

Following a .500 finish in the regular season, North Branford caught fire late and made the state semifinals as a No. 12 seed. It was a memorable March for the #5 Thunderbirds. 

Cheshire had a disappointing finish, falling in the first round of states to Trumbull. Still, it was a very solid season for the #6 Rams.

A state champion in 2022, #7 Wethersfield lost the CCC North final in triple overtime and made a quick exit in states. 

#8 Daniel Hand reached the state quarterfinals before falling to North Haven.
