Fairfield Prep lands at #1 in the final 2022-23 HNIB News Connecticut Division I Top 8 after beating ND-West Haven for its record 19th state championship.

Notre Dame-West Haven drops to #2 for the first time all season after falling a step short of a state title repeat.

#3 New Canaan bested rival Darien in the state playoffs before a semifinal loss to ND-West Haven.

Sure, Darien could’ve gone further in states, but the #4 Blue Wave still won the FCIAC title, their first since 2015 and ninth overall.

#5 Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe, the FCIAC runner-up, wasn’t eligible to compete in the state tournament due to CIAC co-op rules.

#6 Simsbury beat Wethersfield in triple overtime to win the CCC North final.

#7 Northwest Catholic — the only Connecticut program besides Prep to beat ND-West Haven this season  — was upset in the first round of states by Greenwich.

Despite a sub-.500 record, #8 Greenwich pulled off back-to-back upsets to reach the state semifinals as a No. 11 seed.
