Connecticut Division 1 Boys Poll
|4||Notre Dame (WH)||5||1||1|
|7||Notre Dame (F)||3||2||0|
Bad weather messed with the schedule as teams returned to school, but Hamden and East Haven stayed undefeated in the early going (with different levels of activity).
The Green Dragons kept up their hot start with a win, after two weeks off, over St. Joseph. East Haven got its biggest win of the early season when it beat West Haven 6-2.
Darien’s big game against Notre Dame-West Haven was snowed out, but the Green Knights did face archrival Fairfield Prep later in the week. The teams finished up 4-4 in a see-saw affair.
Simsbury came back from its loss to Notre Dame-West Haven with wins it probably needed against Northwest Catholic and Conard. (Its conference rival, Glastonbury, wasn’t so fortunate against an East Catholic team that’s one of the tops in Division II; the Tomahawks lost 4-1.)
New Canaan fell to Notre Dame-Fairfield to dip below .500 after a competitive start against some top teams; that was a bounce-back win for the Lancers, who’d dropped two out of three. (Notre Dame faces Fairfield Prep on Thursday at Bridgeport’s Webster Bank Arena.)
Ridgefield, meanwhile, bounced back from its own ups and downs by beating Xavier twice.
