Doug Bonjour joined Hockey Night in Boston in November 2022. He has covered high school and college sports in Connecticut for more than a decade, including stints as the UConn women’s basketball and UConn football beat reporter for Hearst Connecticut Media. During his time reporting on the 11-time national champion Huskies, he covered three NCAA Final Fours. He previously was a general assignment reporter for GameTimeCT and the Connecticut Post, and covered high school sports statewide, including boys hockey. Prior to that he was the managing/sports editor for the Westport News and Norwalk Citizen community weekly newspapers. He also has written for the Associated Press and New York Times. He graduated from Hofstra University in 2008 with a degree in print journalism.

Notre Dame-West Haven continued its out-of-state dominance, beating Mount St. Charles (R.I.) 4-1 to stay #1 in the latest HNIB News Connecticut Division I Top 8. 

Darien fought to a hard-earned tie, 3-3 with rival New Canaan, to stay #2 in the rankings. 

All that’s kept #3 New Canaan from a perfect start is an overtime loss to Fairfield Prep.

#4 Fairfield Co-op kept rolling thanks to shutouts from Jake Hedman and Connor Zavory.

#5 Xavier rebounded from its first loss, 6-3 to Ridgefield, by beating Notre Dame-Fairfield.

Fairfield Prep had no issues with LaSalle Academy, defeating its Rhode Island counterpart 4-1 to remain #6. 

Simsbury salvaged a 3-3 tie with Glastonbury to stay at #7. 

#8 Northwest Catholic maintains its hold on the final spot in the poll.
