Doug Bonjour joined Hockey Night in Boston in November 2022. He has covered high school and college sports in Connecticut for more than a decade, including stints as the UConn women’s basketball and UConn football beat reporter for Hearst Connecticut Media. Notre Dame-West Haven picked up two more out-of-state wins, beating Bishop Hendricken (R.I.) and Bergen Catholic (N.J.), to stay #1 in the latest HNIB News Connecticut Division I Top 8. 

It was a quality week for #2 Darien, which picked up wins over Xavier and Ridgefield. 

Fairfield Co-op leapfrogs New Canaan for the #3 spot after beating the Rams 3-1 at Wonderland of Ice.

The only blemish of late for #4 New Canaan? That loss to Warde/Ludlowe.

#5 Fairfield Prep lost to powerhouse Delbarton of New Jersey, then took out its frustration by hammering Hamden. 

#6 Simsbury is unbeaten in its last eight games (7-0-1). 

Xavier drops a couple spots to #7 following losses to Darien and Rhode Island’s LaSalle Academy.#8

Northwest Catholic bounced back from an overtime loss to Farmington Valley by beating Glastonbury.
