Connecticut HS Highlights: Roberts, Granito, Welch, Kinahan, Deleo Have Huge Games

* Forward Kyle Roberts netted five goals and added two assists to lead Division 3 #2 Lyman Hall/H-K/Coginchaug to an 8-1 thumping over Newtown. Lyman Hall is 12-4-0.

* Division 1 #4 New Canaan got four goals from Gunnar Granito in its 6-1 triumph over Greenwich. The Rams are now 10-6-0.

* Luke Welch scored four times to pace Division 1 #1 Ridgefield to a 7-0 win over Trinity Catholic. The high-flying Tigers remain unbeaten, running their record to 17-0-0.

* Daniel Hand, ranked #1 in Division 3, received a splendid performance from goaltender Eric Dillner versus Watertown-Pomperaug. Dillner stopped 30 shots in a tight 2-1 victory. Daniel Hand is 11-2-1.

* Division 2 #3 Branford blanked Guilford 5-0 behind 23 saves from Jared Yakikmoff. The Hornets continue to roll with a 10-3-3 overall mark.

* Chase Maxwell found the back of the net twice, including the game winner, to lift Xavier to a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over Division 1 #9 Notre Dame-West Haven.

Trinity Catholic

* Jack Kinahan and Zach Deleo scored five and four goals, respectively, to lead Trinity Catholic to a 9-3 blowout victory over St. Joseph.

* Division 1 #8 West Haven (10-6-1) saw junior Richie Greene score a pair of goals and pick up an assist during the Blue Devils’ 7-2 victory over rival North Haven.

* Wesley Zolin notched two goals and Charlie Zolin recorded 16 saves as part of Greenwich’s 6-0 shutout victory over Staples. Division 1 #10 Greenwich now stands at 8-8-2.

* Kaden Morgillo and Niko Kyle each found the back of the net twice in helping West Haven defeat NFI 5-4. Ryan Moody picked up a pair of goals for NFI.

* Three goals by Jack Dacey spearheaded Division 2 #1 Guilford (12-4-0) over Daniel Hand 8-6. John DeLucia and Jake Watrous also chipped in with a pair of goals each.

The duo - Lance LoFaro and Darby Yaeger - called the nightly broadcasts "Hockey Night in Boston".
