Anthony Ceolin scored twice and Ryan Sherba had two assists in Northwest Catholic’s 4-1 win over Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks. Paul Arel and Tucker Alissi also scored for the Lions, while Brendan Looney scored the Wildcats’ goal.
Jake Magaw scored in the second period to tie it for Simsbury, then scored in overtime to beat Glastonbury 2-1. Jared Roy scored in the first period for Glastonbury.
Joe Ansaldo’s power play goal with 6:17 left gave Notre Dame-West Haven a 2-2 tie at Fairfield Prep. Ansaldo assisted on Vin Paolillo’s second-period goal that gave the Green Knights a lead, but Chris Kral and Cole Casl scored in the third period to give the Jesuits an edge. Conor Hylton made 35 saves for Notre Dame, while Jack McGee stopped 31 shots for Fairfield Prep.
St. Joseph’s early-season run continued with Ryan Wilson’s second shutout in a row, a 4-0 win over Notre Dame-West Haven. Nick DiSabella had a goal and an assist, and Wilson made 42 saves. Hylton made 16 saves for the Green Knights.
Greenwich cooled off the Cadets with a 2-0 win over St. Joseph as Nick Bozzuto made 26 saves. Colin Kelly and K.C. Cunningham scored despite Wilson’s 27 saves.
Billy Scovill made 22 saves and Mike Antoniou and Mark Russo had a goal and an assist apiece in Notre Dame-Fairfield’s 4-1 win over Fairfield Prep. The Lancers also beat New Canaan 3-1 behind another 1-and-1 for Antoniou.
J.J. Jensen had a goal and an assist, including the short-handed game-winner in North Haven’s 2-1 win over Cheshire. Mike Gambardella also scored for North Haven.
North Haven began its week with a 6-3 win over East Haven. North Haven took the lead for good with second-period goals by Josh Back and Jensen. Justin Daddio forced Nick Latella wide on a penalty shot in the first period, and after Latella helped spring Joe Aloi on a breakaway early in the second, Daddio stopped Latella with the left pad.
Watertown/Pomperaug ended Milford’s three-game winning streak with a 7-1 win in Milford. Defenseman Austin Esson had two goals, and Alex Nocera made 20 saves.
New Milford began what has become a three-game winning streak with a 4-3 win over East Haven. Ben Marano made 24 saves, Ryan Berry scored twice, and Riley Zimmerman got the game-winner late.
Sean McKee scored twice, and Brian McKee and Adam Burkle had a goal and an assist apiece for North Branford in a 5-1 win over Trumbull. Martin Birnbach scored on a third-period breakway for Trumbull, which was held to four shots in the first two periods and 10 in all.
Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo came back to tie Lyman Hall/H-K/Coginchaug. Early penalty trouble for the Mountaineers helped Lyman Hall build a 3-0 first-period lead: Kyle Roberts and Chris Blanchard scored on both ends of a five-on-three, and Hunter Boileau added another goal for the Trojans. Nick Mierzejewski and Jason Diamond got two back for Housatonic, and Finn Bambery tied it with 2:15 to go.
Nathan DeLuca and Ryan Black scored three goals apiece in Woodstock Academy’s 11-3 win over the Eastern Connecticut Eagles. Black added three assists, and DeLuca had two. Larry Nolan and Will Vorra had a goal and an assist apiece for the Eagles.
