The status quo mostly held this week in Division I. Our top 10 only changes at 10, where West Haven took a big loss to Fairfield Prep and tied South Windsor, so we’ll slide Simsbury back in there after a win over Xavier.

Darien held serve with wins in-conference against lower-level teams Fairfield (Division II) and Westhill (Division III). Fairfield Prep beat up on West Haven after falling behind early.

Notre Dame-West Haven needed a late Eric Austin goal to take Xavier to overtime before winning on Kyle Lynch’s goal. Meanwhile, East Haven, Notre Dame-Fairfield and New Canaan all kept winning.

Hamden spent the weekend in Massachusetts, losing to Hingham and tying St. John’s of Shrewsbury. And Glastonbury and Ridgefield had a couple of conference games they figured to win on paper; both got it done, though Ridgefield had a 7-5 game against a resurgent Staples team.
