It was a relatively quiet week on the ice in Connecticut Division 1 boys hockey with one notable exception – top-ranked Notre Dame-West Haven scored a big victory over No. 2 Darien.
No. 5 Fairfield Prep also slipped past No. 8 Hamden, while No. 6 Northwest Catholic and No. 7 Xavier each swept to a pair of wins last week.
That leads to a week of no change in the Hockey Night in Boston rankings, as the teams await their official tournament seedings to be announced Friday by the CIAC.
There is some action on this ice this week, as ND-West Haven hosts West Haven, and Hamden takes on ND-Fairfield in regular-season finales Wednesday.
The Connecticut league tournaments also are ongoing, as ND-West Haven returns to the ice Friday night against Xavier in the SCC/SWC Division 1 championship game (6 p.m., Bennett Rink).
The FCIAC semifinals will be played Wednesday, featuring Darien vs. Ridgefield (4 p.m., Darien), and No. 3 Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe against No. 4 New Canaan (7:30 p.m., Wonderland). The championship is Saturday at noon at Danbury Ice Arena.
