Ian Hayden, Matt Muro and Doug Caliendo scored in the third period as Notre Dame-West Haven came back to beat Xavier 4-2, avenging an earlier loss to the Falcons. Conor Hylton made 34 saves for the win. Earlier in the week, Liam Hylton scored in the last minute as the Green Knights came back for a 3-2 win over Glastonbury, which had taken a 2-0 lead on goals by Jared Roy and Cam Rapoza.

K.C. Cunningham had two goals in Greenwich’s 4-1 win over Notre Dame-Fairfield. Nick Bozzuto made 17 saves in the win. Billy Scovill stopped 15 for Notre Dame, which got a goal from Brian Gallagher. Ollie Fulton and Colin Kelly also scored for Greenwich.

Notre Dame-Fairfield outshot Jersey City’s St. Peter’s Prep handily, but the Marauders’ second-string goalie, Jeff Hoens, made 35 saves in a 2-0 win over the Lancers in the final of the Notre Dame Invitational Tournament. Notre Dame beat Prout of Rhode Island 6-2 in the tournament semifinals.


Division Two

Jake Fuss came up big for Fairfield in a couple of wins over Division I opponents this week. He had two goals and an assist in Fairfield’s 4-1 win over Ridgefield. The Mustangs gave up the first goal to Teo van Wees, but Mike Grace finished with 35 saves, and Fairfield scored three in the third to put it away. Later in the week, Fuss scored again in the Mustangs’ 3-1 win over New Canaan.

Guilford beat Milford 11-5, taking leads of 9-0, 10-1 and 11-2 before Milford scored three late. Stephen Thibault scored four goals and added an assist. John Delucia and Rick Sandella scored two apiece.

Jordan Fongemie, Zack Polo and Grayson Lacroix scored for Conard in a 3-1 win over South Windsor. Scott Swan scored the Bobcats’ lone goal.

North Branford got 20 saves from John Lovelace in a 2-1 win over Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks, the team that beat the Thunderbirds for the Division II title last year. Nico Giatrelis and Brian McKee scored for the Thunderbirds, and Dan Bahl got the Wildcats’ lone goal.

Division Three

Shane Conciatore made 30 saves in New Fairfield/Immaculate’s big 2-1 win over Division II Cheshire. Jimmy Hayden and Sam Mitchell scored for the Rebel Mustangs. Matt Federico got the Rams’ goal.

Adam Faust shut out BCR, and Jacob Herz’s goal in the third period got Hall/Southington a 1-0 win, the Warrior Knights’ sixth victory in a row. It was only BCR’s second game against a Division III team in its first seven; it won the first one.

Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo needed just 12 saves from Matt Murray to beat the NFA/St. Bernard/Bacon Academy 5-3. Housatonic had five different goal-scorers; three of them, Nick Mierzejewski, Bradford Rawlings and Jason Diamond, added an assist. Ben Amor made 14 saves for the Redhawks.

The Eastern Connecticut Eagles avenged an earlier loss to Lyman Hall/HK/Coginchaug with a 3-2 win. Larry Nolan tied it on a power play and won it in the third period. Han Sherman made 25 saves in the win.
