Division One

– Preseason favorites Notre Dame-Fairfield finally started showing signs of that level of play midway through the season. The Lancers smoked West Haven (coming off a two-week layoff) 9-1, then beat Fairfield Prep 4-1 behind Billy Scovill’s 16 saves and two goals from Conor McCutcheon. Mike Antoniou had two assists, and Tyler Henchcliffe and Nick Carloto scored. Justin Blanchette scored Fairfield Prep’s goal, and Jack Taubl kept it close with 33 saves.

– Jack Pardue had three points as Darien shook off a first-minute goal against and beat Fairfield Prep 4-1, the Blue Wave’s second convincing win over Fairfield Prep this year. John Edmonds scored 50 seconds in for the Jesuits, who were overrun in the teams’ first meeting, a 3-2 Darien win. But Darien took over from there. Riley Mullin and Jake Kirby also scored goals for Darien, and Will Massie made 25 saves.

– Darien’s win over Fairfield Prep came a day after the Blue Wave and Greenwich played a 3-3 tie. The Cardinals’ next outing was probably their biggest win of the year: Montana Larson scored two goals in a 5-1 victory over Ridgefield.

– Notre Dame-West Haven ended a two-week layoff of its own with a 3-2 win over West Haven. Joe Ansaldo scored the game-winner in the third period.

Division Two

– Shane Kertanis made 30 saves and Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks coach Nick Boorman was impressed by his team’s play in all three zones in a 2-0 upset win over Simsbury. The Wildcats scored both goals in the first period. Jake King tallied 2:45 in off Austin Rupp’s assist, and Jake Bourdeau made it 2-0 not three minutes later with an assist from Colin MacDougald. George Matteo made 14 saves for the Trojans.

– Earlier in the week, the Wildcats beat Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo 4-3 in overtime. Austin Rupp’s hat trick erased an early 2-0 Housatonic lead, and Mitch Bielonko scored in overtime. Eric Chin made 37 saves for Housatonic, and James Huften and Jason Diamond had two points apiece.

– Milford beat East Haven 6-3 behind Brandon Argyros’ four points, which included the power-play goal in the second period that tied the game at 2-2. Charles Knights scored three minutes later to break the tie for good. Andrew Gobany had three points. Pete Capone, John Monaco and Tyler Greco scored for East Haven.

Division Three

– Elijah Begin’s goal in overtime gave Masuk a 3-2 win over New Fairfield/Immaculate. Shane Dushay and Charlie Christo scored for Masuk; in between, New Fairfield/Immaculate’s Christian Benzing scored twice.

– Earlier in the week, Masuk had a lead on Branford but fell 4-3 in overtime; Shane Dushay had two goals for the Panthers.

– Brookfield/Bethel/Danbury continued its midseason surge with a 5-4 win over New Milford. Alec Morrone scored in overtime.
