Amity also put things together late, racing to the CIAC final after reaching the SCC/SWC final as well.
One of the Spartans’ big regular-season wins was against East Catholic, which otherwise lost very few games until it ran into Hand in the state semifinals. While the Eagles flew most of the year, Milford had its ups and downs until it started the CIAC tournament with huge wins over Trinity Catholic and Branford, two of the top teams for much of the season. It then gave Amity a scare in the semifinals.
Hand also took down North Haven and Newington/Berlin/Manchester on the way to the championship while Cheshire and New Milford fell in the quarterfinals, the Rams after a first-round win over Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks, the Green Wave after a win over BCR in the first round.
