Connecticut Division 3 Semifinals: Sheehan Upends Top-Seed Daniel Hand; Late Goal Lifts Lyman Hall

* Sheehan, the No. 4 seed in the Division 3 tournament, made a huge statement,  man-handling top-seed Daniel Hand 8-2 to advance to the state final. The Titans will partake in their first state championship. Sheehan was led by Anthony Romano and Jake Festa, who both recorded hat tricks. Festa also collected three assists. Joey Richo and Devin Napoli tallied one goal apiece.

* Mike O’Toole’s goal with 1:14 remaining proved to be the difference as #2 Lyman Hall/H-K/Coginchaug edged #3 Newington 4-3. Matt Pettit netted two goals for the Trojans. TJ Arduini also had a goal. Lyman Hall heads to its first state final. Newington got goals from Justin RobertsKilian Ranger and Joe Fogarty.
