Connecticut Division 3 Quarterfinals: Daniel Hand, Lyman Hall, Sheehan All Register Big Wins

The Connecticut boys’ Division 3 quarterfinals got underway on Thursday.

* Top-seed Daniel Hand easily handled #8 Newtown 5-0. Joey DeAngelis had one goal and one assist. Tatum and Griffin Fitzmaurice recorded a pair of assists each. Tatum Fitzmaurice also added a goal. Newtown goaltender Markus Paltauf made 45 saves. Two goals each by Aidan Weir and Kyle Roberts paced #2 Lyman Hall to an easy 6-0 triumph over #7 New Milford.

* Matt Lavoie’s goal midway through the third period proved to be the difference as #3 Newington edged #6 Tri-Town 3-2. #4 Sheehan was on fire versus #5 JBWA, as the Titans rolled to a 12-3 victory. Devin Napoli netted three goals while Jake Festa and Anthony Romano scored two apiece. Festa, a senior, also contributed five assists. Romano picked up career point No. 100.

The duo - Lance LoFaro and Darby Yaeger - called the nightly broadcasts "Hockey Night in Boston".
