Connecticut Division 2 Semifinals: Glastonbury Survives in 2OT; Branford Takes Down WMRP, 6-1

* Justin Hazard was the hero on a couple of occasions during #6 Glastonbury’s 3-2 double overtime semifinal victory over #10 Farmington Valley Tuesday night. Hazard, a senior, scored the tying goal with 48 seconds in regulation before popping in the clincher, off his own face-off win, two periods later. Teammate Keane Smith added a goal for the Tomahawks. Matt Arena and Scott Groleau notched goals for the Generals. Trevor Paluso had 42 saves in defeat. Brendon O’Connor stopped 38 shots.

* Scoring five times over the final two periods, #4 Branford blew past ninth-seed WMRP 6-1 in the evening’s other semi. Junior Jack Manware scored a pair of goals and added one assist. The Hornets also received goals from Spencer EngstromBlake KustraChris Donadio and Max Bunton. The Eagles’ lone tally came from Ben Mroczka.
