Connecticut Division 2 Poll
There were plenty of interesting results in the first few weeks of play, but not enough to dramatically shake up Hockey Night in Boston’s Connecticut Division II rankings.
There were a couple of ties among the top 10, including North Haven coming back to tie Amity, and New Milford, starting well, tying Cheshire. Cheshire had a big win over Amity while losing to a couple of Division I programs. Branford, meanwhile, started strong, including a big win over defending champion Hand, which was coming off a win over Division I Northwest Catholic.
North Branford was unbeaten early with a win over New Milford. Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks also started well, needing overtime to defeat pesky E.O. Smith/Tolland, one of the top Division III teams.
Conard won its first three games as well, scoring 20 goals and allowing Northwest Catholic and Trinity Catholic just two goals before shutting out BCR. East Haven, meanwhile, fell to Newington/Berlin in its first game but game back to beat Stamford.
