No. 1 Branford and No. 4 North Branford were set to meet last week before the snowstorm. They will now play tomorrow, weather cleanup permitting. It was a game that could’ve shaken up this week’s HNIB News Connecticut Division Two rankings.

Another game tweaked them instead: North Branford lost 2-1 to No. 7 North Haven, snapping the Thunderbirds’ six-game winning streak since an overtime loss to Fairfield. It’s the biggest win of the year for North Haven, highly regarded by opposing coaches at the season’s start; the Indians also shut out defending champion No. 9 Hand this week.

The top-ranked Hornets, without the North Branford game, beat No. 6 New Milford, 5-2. No. 2 Fairfield won two games, and No. 3 Conard, jumping over the Thunderbirds this week, beat East Catholic.

No. 5 Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks came back from a loss to Northwest Catholic with a handy win over Division Three Woodstock Academy.

No. 10 Milford debuts this week after a 5-3 win over Cheshire.
