Tri-Town hangs on to the #1 spot in this week’s HNIB News Connecticut D3 Top 10, but there are a bunch of clubs ready to take over if an opening occurs. The Terrorcats have started a bit slowly but hope to get things cranked up. They have a key D2 matchup with #5 Newington on Wednesday, then hope to exact some revenge against the Eastern CT Eagles on Saturday.

Both of #2 Sheehan‘s losses have come to ranked D2 teams, and both by one goal. The Titans had a 3-2 win Saturday over Enfield/EG/Stafford. Sheehan faces Milford (Wednesday_ and the Redhawks (Saturday) this week.

New head coach Brian Gonsalves has Daniel Hand (4-1-0) playing well to start the season, a start which has the Tigers at #3 this week. They own a nice win over D2 power Guilford, and most recently beat North Haven, 5-1. The Tigers loss was to Lyman Hall/H-K/Coginchaug on December 26. Masuk (Wednesday) and BBD (Saturday) provide this week’s opposition.

#4 Lyman Hall/H-K/Coginchaug owns that win over Hand, and has one over North Haven. The Trojans two losses have been to Cheshire and Branford. They host Staples (Wednesday) and then Westhill-Stamford (Saturday) at Northford Ice Pavilion.

New to this latest poll are unbeaten Wilton (4-0-0) at #6 and Trinity Catholic (3-1-0) at #7.
