Connecticut D2 Top 10: Watertown-Pomperaug Keeps Hold Of Top Spot

In 1972, two lifetime high school hockey fans started a weekly broadcast of Greater Boston high school games on WBOS-FM (92.9). The duo - Lance LoFaro and Darby Yaeger - called the nightly broadcasts "Hockey Night in Boston". As of late, HNIBnews - over 40 years running - has kept the scholastic hockey world on its feet with its widely-read website In addition to HNIBnews, Hockey Night in Boston runs, and also hosts summer tournaments showcasing the talents of scholastic hockey.

#1 Watertown-Pomeraug (15-3-2) remained in the top spot after picking up a 5-3 win over Amity. The regular season is now over for the Indians, who await post-season play.

#2 Guilford (13-6-0) played one game this week, losing to Westhill Stamford 7-3. They close out the regular season Monday against North Haven

#3 Branford (13-3-3) knocked off East Haven Co-op 4-1 in its only game this week. D3’s top club – Daniel Hand – is the final regulars season tilt Monday.

#4 E.O. Smith (14-5-0) also only played one game, but it was a big one as they rolled over WMRP (4-1).

#5 Cheshire (15-4-1) climbed another spot following three wins over Farmington Valley (3-0), New Milford (7-1) and Hall-Southington (3-0). The Rams have won seven straight games.
