For the second straight week, there was some shuffling amongst the top teams in Connecticut Division 2 hockey.

Again, not in the top spot, where #1 Farmington Valley (16-1-1) stays put. The Generals had big wins over Simsbury (7-1) and Hall/Southington (6-2), sandwich around a tie with Cheshire (2-2).  The regular season concludes this week with games against Notre Dame-Fairfield (Wednesday) and NFI (Saturday), two ranked D1 opponents.

Guilford (14-3-0) climbs to #2 after wins over Trinity Catholic (10-1) and North Haven (4-3). The Indians have a key matchup Wednesday with Cheshire, then take on Milford (Thursday) and Daniel Hand (Saturday).

#3 Watertown-Pomperaug (13-2-1) also won a pair, over North Haven (4-3) and Woodstock Academy (6-2). W-P will see Amity (Saturday) and Daniel Hand (Sunday).

North Branford (12-4-1) drops to #4 after a big loss to Amity (8-2). NB did have a tie with D1 NFI (1-1) and squeezed past New Milford (1-0). A three-game week features Staples (Tuesday), Conard (Thursday) and East Haven Co-op (Saturday).

#5 Cheshire (9-7-2) had a huge tie with the top-ranked Generals, then fell Monday to West Haven (4-1). The Rams look to upset Guilford Wednesday and close out their regular season Saturday against North Haven.

Amity (10-6-1) is now at #6 after a solid week with wins over North Branford (5-2), Newtown (8-0) and Tri-Town (5-1). Trinity Catholic is on the docket Thursday, then Watertown-Pomperaug (Saturday).

#7 Branford (11-4-1) has now won five straight after decisions over Trumbull (2-0) and Daniel Hand (4-1). Branford hopes to continue against East Haven (Wednesday) and Newtown (Saturday).

#8 Conard (9-7-0) drops after falling to New Milford (5-2). It gets SGWL Wednesday before the North Branford matchup. #9 Hall-Southington (10-6-1) is on for Saturday. H-S will take on WMRP Wednesday.

East Haven Co-op (7-6-1) stays at #10. The Hornets are very busy this week with games against Woodstock Academy (Tuesday), Branford (Wednesday), NFI (Friday) and North Branford (Saturday).
