Top-ranked Farmington Valley (12-1-0) had another impressive week, with a pair of wins over South Windsor (4-1, 7-0). The Generals are set to take on East Catholic (Tuesday), then have a key battle Saturday on the road against #4 Conard (8-4-1).
#2 Watertown/Pomperaug (11-1-1) keeps on its solid track, knocking off Newtown (5-2) and Woodstock Academy (5-3). W/P has just one game this week, but it is a key matchup with #5 Guilford on Friday.
#3 North Branford (10-3-0) beat North Haven, but then fell to Lyman Hall/H-K/Coginchaug. #10 East Haven (6-5-1) and E.O. Smith/Tolland (Saturday) are on this week’s docket.
Conard has now won five straight. It gets Simsbury Wednesday before the Saturday matchup with FVC.
Guilford also has Daniel Hand on Wednesday.
Other upward movers include #6 Cheshire (8-6-1), which did beat #8 Branford (8-4-1) and will see East Catholic Friday, and #7 Amity (7-5-1), which had a win over East Haven, as well as a 4-4 standoff with Cheshire. Amity has a key game tonight with Lyman Hall.
Back in this week’s rankings at #9 is Hall/Southington (8-4-1), 3-0-1 in its last four games. H/S has a return gig with East Haven Co-op this Saturday.
