This is, let’s call it, maybe, a provisional HNIB News Connecticut Division II top 10?

No. 8 Farmington Valley comes off an immense victory, beating No. 1 East Haven 8-4, the first team to cool off what had been a juggernaut that hadn’t given up more than three goals in a game and that was coming off a win over No. 5 Watertown/Pomperaug. Farmington probably deserves a big bump for that. The question is “how far,” and that answer could become clearer this week.

The Generals host No. 7 South Windsor on Wednesday. The Bobcats are coming off four close losses in a row to D1 teams. (South Windsor also meets No. 4 Conard on Saturday.)

No. 2 Guilford and No. 3 NFI meet Saturday in East Haven; both won this week. The wins were also relatively easy for No. 6 Westhill/Stamford this week.

No. 9 Hand beat North Haven 5-0 after North Haven beat No. 10 Cheshire 2-1.
