Things went roughly to form at the top of the HNIB News Connecticut Division II Top 10: Solid wins against Division II teams, solid results against Division I teams.

That started at the top, where No. 1 Fairfield, the sixth seed in the six-team FCIAC tournament, led New Canaan with five minutes left before falling in double overtime. No. 2 Conard lost narrowly to Northwest Catholic. And No. 3 Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks beat East Catholic, its third win against a Division I team this year.

While No. 4 Branford dropped two Division I games this week before snapping its four-game losing streak with a win over East Haven, No. 5 North Haven played a scoreless tie with West Haven, then nipped No. 6 North Branford for the second time this year.

The typical Division II parity has shown itself in recent weeks, with Guilford coming back from a slow start with a solid finish that has included a tie against No. 7 Cheshire and a win against Milford. Another late charge has come from No. 10 Fermi/Enfield/East Granby/Stafford, which has won eight out of nine to close the regular season.
