Fairfield Prep‘s unbeaten streak was put to the test this week in a game against fellow Top 10 club Xavier. Facing a 2-0 hole, the Jesuits rallied for a 3-2 win with a late third period goal. Prep (12-0-0) also blanked Hamden 4-0 and remains firmly in the #1 spot in this week’s HNIB News Connecticut D1 Top 10.

The Jesuits are off until a Saturday date with Notre Dame of Fairfield.

#2 Ridgefield (8-2-0) had just one game this week, and rolled over Fairfield Co-op 8-1. The Tigers take on New Canaan (Wednesday), Wilton (Friday) and Simsbury (Saturday).

Up a step to #3 is Notre Dame of West Haven (8-4-0), which blanked rival Notre Dame Fairfield (5-0) and then beat New Fairfield/Immaculate (4-3). They will see Northwest Catholic (Monday) and West Haven (Saturday).

The tight battle with Prep, as well as a solid 6-3 win over Greenwich, pushes Xavier (9-4-0) up to #4. Northwest Catholic provides the opposition Wednesday, and RI’s top team, LaSalle Academy, is on the docket for Saturday.

#5 Greenwich (9-2-0) did post wins over New Canaan (8-5) and Trumbull (5-2) and will play NY’s Iona Prep Thursday and Rye Country Day Saturday in a pair of non-league games this week.

#6 Hamden won one, and lost one this week, dropping Saturday’s game to Prep, but also beating West Haven (4-1). The Dragons host Simsbury (Wednesday) and St. Joseph (Saturday).

#7 Notre Dame Fairfield (7-4-0) beat West Haven 2-1. The Lancers get East Catholic before taking on Prep Saturday.

#8 New Fairfield/Immaculate (6-2-2) picked up a win over Cheshire (2-0) and tied up North Haven (1-1). Masuk provides the opposition Wednesday and Guilford on Saturday.

Rounding out this week’s rankings are Northwest Catholic (5-4-1) at #9, looking to get back into the win column after a current three-game losing streak, and new #10 Fairfield Co-op (6-3-0).
