#1 Ridgefield (19-0-0) continues its unbeaten streak following a pair of solid victories over #6 Fairfield Prep (2-1) and D3 # 5 Wilton (10-3). The Tigers close out the regular season Monday against Westhill-Stamford

#2 Darien (14-4-0) also posted two shutouts during the week, defeating Wilton and Trumball by identical 7-0 scores. The Blue Wave have a Monday game scheduled against Greenwich, and will see Notre Dame of West Haven on Thursday.

#3 Northwest Catholic (14-1-1) also picked up a pair of shutout wins, blanking Xavier (4-0) and Hamden (1-0). A return matchup with Xavier is on for Wednesday and East Catholic is on the docket for Saturday.

#4 New Canaan (13-6-0) had a productive week registering triumphs over ND-Fairfield (3-1), McMahon-Norwalk (7-1) and Staples (3-1). The Rams also close out the regular season Monday, facing Xavier.

After an off week, #5 Hamden (10-7-0) was back in action. The Green Dragons beat ND-Fairfield (3-1) but fell to Northwest Catholic (1-0). West Haven (Wednesday) and Fairfield Prep (Saturday) will be this week’s opponents.

In 1972, two lifetime high school hockey fans started a weekly broadcast of Greater Boston high school games on WBOS-FM (92.9). The duo - Lance LoFaro and Darby Yaeger - called the nightly broadcasts "Hockey Night in Boston". As of late, HNIBnews - over 30 years running - has kept the scholastic hockey world on its feet with its widely-read website HNIBnews.com.
