The weather continues to wreak havoc on the schedules in Connecticut, costing us at least two neat interstate games, Fairfield Prep against Don Bosco (N.J.) and Notre Dame-West Haven against LaSalle Academy (R.I.).
No. 1 Darien remained atop Hockey Night in Boston’s Connecticut Division I rankings, beating two Division III conference opponents as it approached a tough finish to its schedule. No. 2 Greenwich, right behind, played two overtime games. The Cardinals beat No. 5 Notre Dame-West Haven and tied No. 7 New Canaan.
No. 3 Fairfield Prep beat No. 4 Ridgefield for the second time, while No. 6 West Haven, going to overtime with No. 8 Hamden for the second time this year, got a win this time around after a tie last time. West Haven also beat Amity, and Hamden beat East Haven.
No. 10 Notre Dame-Fairfield got two wins, over South Windsor and Simsbury. The Lancers have a big week, weather permitting, facing Darien and New Canaan. No. 9 Xavier, meanwhile, idled by the weather for over two weeks, has New Canaan and West Haven on this week’s schedule.
