Catholic Central Large stalwart Austin Prep knocked off host Malden Catholic, 3-2, to claim the Christie Serino Classic crown Tuesday night at the Malden Valley Forum II. Junior Drew Thibodeau (2 goals) sealed it with an empty-netter and the Cougars rode the 29-save performance of senior goalie and tournament MVP Anthony Beaulieu to the win. Nick Saunders also scored for AP.

Brendan Zinck Malden Catholic

Brendan Zinck turned in a stellar 34-save performance for the Lancers and Nick Saunders made it a one-goal game with 10 seconds to play,

Third Place

Franklin edged St. Mary’s in OT, 3-2. Anthony Lampasona scored two goals and Justin Magazu had the other for the Panthers.


Anthony Ghergurovich scored the game-winning goal and Brendan Zinck made 36 saves in MC’s 3-2 win against Franklin. Owen Keefe (2 assists) and Evan Foskett also scored.
