It is back where it started for Salisbury (10-2-0). The Crimson Knights started the season at #1 and after one sub-par week, are back at #1 in this week’s HNIB News Boys Prep Top 15.

Salisbury returned from break with wins over Brunswick (5-4) and Deerfield (7-5). The Knights may have to tighten up things a bit defensively going forward, beginning this week with games against Cushing (Wednesday) and Westminster (Saturday).

Red-hot #2 Gunnery (10-2-1) is 9-0-1 in its last 10 after wins this past weekend over Canterbury (4-1) and Winchendon (5-2). The Highlanders look to keep their strong play going this week against Taft (Monday), Hoosac (Wednesday) and Stanstead College (Saturday).

Avon Old Farms (7-2-1) bumps up a spot to #3, returning to action from the holidays with a nice 6-3 win over Taft. The Winged Beavers get Hotchkiss on Wednesday and Kent on Saturday.

#4 Tilton (10-1-0) also returned from break with a bang, pinning an 8-3 win on Milton Academy Saturday and a 10-0 victory over Worcester on Sunday. A huge one looms Wednesday at Phillips Andover.

And look who is making a run up the rankings? None other than defending Elite 8 Kimball Union (11-4-0). The Wildcats had an impressive showing at the Nichol-Belmont Hill Tournament. A three-game week has Vermont Academy (Wednesday), Governors Academy (Friday) and an interesting matchup with resurgent St. Paul’s (Saturday).

#6 St. Sebastian’s (10-3-0) picked up a pair of tight, one-goal wins over Nobles (3-2) and Belmont Hill (2-1). The Arrows are set to host BB&N (Tuesday) and Tabor (Saturday).

Idle Phillips Andover (8-2-1) stays put at #7 anticipating Wednesday’s matchup with Tilton. The Big Blue also have Proctor on Monday and Exeter Saturday.

#8 Lawrence Academy (6-0-4), still unbeaten, had three wins and a tie at the Watkins Tournament and get back into the swing of things Wednesday against Nobles.

A tough Watkins Tournament, where they won just once in four tries, slides Dexter Southfield (7-3-3) down to #9 this week. Dexter did tie Rivers (2-2) and blanked St. Mark’s (6-0). They are off until a Saturday date with New Hampton.

#10 Cushing (7-4-2) won the Watkins Tournament but then fell to Brewster Academy Saturday by a 6-2 margin. A busy week includes Salisbury (Wednesday), Deerfield (Friday) and Loomis Chaffee (Saturday).

Rounding out this week’s Top 15 are #11 Deerfield (6-3-0), #12 Rivers (8-4-2), #13 St. Paul’s (8-3-1), #14 Northfield (8-4-0) and #15 Nobles (7-4-1)
