Boys Prep Top 15
The top three remain intact this week in our latest HNIB News Boys Prep Top 15, but there was movement elsewhere, including two teams making their debut in the rankings.
It was two more wins for #1 Kimball Union (18-2-1), as the Wildcats beat Exeter (3-1) and Tilton (6-2). KUA has another busy week, with games against Northfield (Wednesday), a big one with Holderness (Friday) and New Hampton (Saturday).
#2 Avon Old Farms (15-1-0) continues to roll. The Winged Beavers beat Westminster (5-0, Loomis Chaffee (4-2) and Choate (7-2). They get another shot with Westminster Wednesday.
#3 Dexter Southfield (11-4-2) was idle this past week and looks ahead to Pomfret (Wednesday) and Andover (Saturday).
Red-hot Salisbury (11-4-0) is up to #4 this week after wins over Berkshire (3-1) and Frederick Gunn School (8-0) made it six straight for the Crimson Knights. They travel to Brunswick Monday and face Trinity Pawling Wednesday and Cushing Saturday.
Belmont Hill (12-0-2) continues it rise, now at #5 this week. BH blanked Brooks in its only action (3-0) and has a three-game week featuring Lawrence Academy (Wednesday), Andover (Friday) and Rivers (Saturday).
#6 Brunswick (11-4-1) beat Hoosac and fell to South Kent Selects. After Salisbury, the Bruins get Lawrenceville (Wednesday) and Albany Academy (Friday).
#7 St. Sebastian’s (11-3-1) rebounded from a loss to Nobles with a 6-4 decision over Thayer. Milton (Wednesday) and St. Mark’s (Saturday) are on the docket this week.
#8 Cushing (10-2-3) got tied by Northfield, beat South Kent and then lost Sunday to Exeter. The Penguins have Hoosac (Wednesday), Vermont Academy (Friday) and Salisbury (Saturday).
#9 Holderness (14-1-1) racked up two more wins, taking down Brewster Academy (6-2) and New Hampton (4-3). The Bulls look to keep it going against #10 Exeter (10-4-2) on Wednesday and then top-ranked Kimball Union at home Friday night.
Exeter, fresh off a 3-2 win over Cushing, has Brooks Thursday and Tilton Saturday this week as well.
Also in this week’s rankings are #11 Kent (10-6-0), #12 Nobles (9-5-1), #13 St. Mark’s (9-3-2), new #14 Pomfret (10-4-2) and new #15 Northfield Mt. Hermon (9-4-2).
