An impressive three-win week, that included a pair of back-to-back victories over Kimball Union, keep Cushing (22-1-4) firmly entrenched as the #1 team in this week’s HNIB News Boys Prep Top 15.

The Penguins, who also downed Andover, close out their regular season against New Hampton (Wednesday) and Governor’s Academy (Saturday).

#2 Avon Old Farms (17-2-3) took down Choate and had a 2-2 standoff with now #6 Salisbury (12-6-5). The Winged Beavers have remaining games left with Canterbury (Wednesday) and Loomis Chaffee (Saturday).

A big 6-2 win over #4 Belmont Hill (17-5-3) propels Milton Academy (15-4-5) to the #3 spot. The Mustangs face Thayer (Wednesday) and then #5 Nobles (17-3-4) Friday night.

Belmont Hill rebounded from the Milton loss with a 4-3 OT win over Nobles. The Hillies finish out with Tabor (Wednesday), surging Dexter Southfield (Friday) and Westminster (Saturday).

Nobles will take on Governor’s Academy on Wednesday.

Salisbury closes out with Berkshire on Monday and Hotchkiss on Wednesday.

Keeping its upward trend is #7 Brunswick (18-9-0). The Bruins edged Frederick Gunn School. They have Trinity Pawling on Friday.

Pairing for the three New England tournaments (Elite, Large School, Small School) will be announced this coming Sunday.
