While the two teams above it had a loss and a tie, Rivers took care of business with a pair of wins over St. Mark’s (5-1) and Middlesex (4-0) and as a result, takes over at #1 for this week’s HNIB News Boys Prep Top 15.

The Red Wings (21-4-2) have only one regular season game left, Wednesday against Brooks, as they await a probable invitation to the Elite Tournament.

#2 Dexter (19-3-3) knocked off Berwick (4-1) before playing to a 2-2 standoff with Winchendon. Coach Dan Donato’s team finishes the regular season this week against Holderness (Wednesday) and St. Paul’s (Friday).

Kimball Union (28-4-2) drops to #3 after being upset Saturday by Cushing 3-2. The Wildcats await the Lakes Region playoff tournament Friday and Saturday.

#4 Lawrence Academy (18-4-2) had a pair of solid wins over Governors Academy (5-1) and St. Mark’s (6-1). The Spartans close out against St. Sebastian’s (Wednesday) and St. Paul’s (Saturday).

#5 Phillips Exeter (21-5-1) downed Northfield (4-2) and tied Deerfield (1-1) this week. The Big Red finish with Winchendon (Wednesday) and rival Phillips Andover (Saturday).

#6 Belmont Hill (19-6-4) stayed hot with wins over Milton Academy (3-2) and Nobles (4-3) and has now won six straight. One game remains on the docket, a Wednesday date with St. Paul’s.

#7 Gunnery (19-8-0) had a nice week with convincing wins over Canterbury (6-2), Lawrenceville (11-1) and Brunswick (5-1) before Sunday. They move up to #7 and keep their hopes of defending their Elite title alive. The Highlanders close with Westminster (Wednesday) and Berkshire (Saturday). Gunnery was also scheduled to face Northwood on Sunday.

#8 Thayer (19-8-0) sandwiched wins over Tabor (6-4) and St. Paul’s (4-3) around a tough 4-1 loss to Milton. The Tigers close out the regular season against Milton again (Wednesday) and St. Sebastian’s (Friday).

#9 Avon Old Farms (13-6-4) fell to Choate (3-2) but responded with a 5-4 win over Salisbury. Sunday, the Winged Beavers were tied up by Pomfret 1-1.

#10 Salisbury‘s (18-7-2) loss to Avon could dampen its hopes for an Elite Tournament berth. The Knights still have red-hot Hotchkiss (Wednesday) and Canterbury (Saturday).

Despite losses to Gunnery and Northwood, Brunswick (15-9-4) comes in at #11. The Bruins await this weekend’s Empire Cup.

#12 Albany Academy (19-7-4) lost to Brunswick (2-1) but did knock off St. George’s (8-4). They will take on Williston (Wednesday) and Millbrook (Friday).
