A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. Gary also helps organize and oversee HNIB's many summer tournaments and festivals for scholastic players.

Small School

Cushing 4, Gunnery 3: The Penguins got two goals from Vilho Saariluoma to continue their hot streak and reach the final.

Pomfret 4 New Hampton 2: Phil Satin, Josh Labonte, Brandon Mitchell and an empty-netter from Bill Berry powered the Griffins.

Large School

Avon Old Farms 7, Brunswick 3: Tyler Madden had a hat trick to lead the Winged Beavers. Matt Allen, Nick Wildgoose, Will Rooney and Ryan Lanchbury.

Albany Academy 1, St. Sebastian’s 0: An early goal from Josh Chapman was all the Cadets needed to move on. Brandon Collett had the shutout in goal.

Elite Tournament

Kimball Union 2, Dexter 1: A J.D. Caras goal was the difference as the Wildcats went on the road and edged Dexter. Roope Hirvonen also had a goal for KUA.

Rivers 5, Phillips Exeter 2: The Red Wings moved on the the title game with a solid win. Tom Tresca had two goals, while Phil Trescas, Charlie Parsons and Brett Rahbany also scored.
