Massachusetts Girls D2 Semifinals: Canton to meet top-seed Wellesley for championship

* A second period goal by junior Maggie Malloy, who has been on fire in the post-season, was all second-seeded Canton needed to down third-seeded Archbishop Williams 1-0 in a MIAA Girls D2 semifinal matchup. Senior Colleen Kelleher earned the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs, making their second straight trip to Causeway Street, Canton fell to Notre Dame Academy in last year’s title game.

* Top-seed Wellesley blanked Algonquin/Hudson 5-0 to earn its fourth trip to the D2 final in the last five years. Isabelle Kressy scored the first and last goals of the night for the Raiders, while Bridget Noonan, Mackenzie O’Neil and Erin Fleming all lit the lamp as well.
