A week to go before the playoff pairings are announced and the top eight teams as determined by the NEPSAC formula are finalized. While a handful of teams should be all set, it looks like this week’s action will be needed to find out who fills out the final seeds in the tournament.

Kent (16-1-0) remains at #1 in the week’s HNIB News Girls Prep Division 1 Top 10. The Lions edged past Hotchkiss 1-0 in their only action of the week. Remaining Games: Gunnery (Wednesday), Westminster (Saturday).

#2 Loomis Chaffee (16-3-1) remains solid, blanking Pomfret (5-0) then grabbing a key win over Williston (4-3). Remaining Games: Canterbury (Monday), Andover (Wednesday), Deerfield (Saturday).

Tabor (18-4-0) moves into the #3 spot after getting it done this week with wins over BB&N (2-0) and Nobles (2-1). Remaining Games: Middlesex (Monday), St. George’s (Wednesday), Berkshire (Saturday).

#4 Nobles (20-3-3) is still smarting from that last-second loss to Tabor Saturday. The ‘Dawgs did beat Andover (4-1) and Thayer (2-1). Remaining Games: Berkshire (Monday), Governors Academy (Wednesday), Milton Academy (Saturday).

#5 St. Paul’s (15-4-3) appears solid for the post-season, picking up wins over Exeter (8-1) and Winchendon (3-1). Remaining Games: Cushing (Wednesday), Lawrence Academy (Saturday).

Despite the loss to Loomis Chaffee, Williston (12-6-3) moves up to #6. The Wildcats did knock off Northfield (4-0). Remaining Games: Deerfield (Wednesday), Winchendon (Friday), BB&N (Saturday).

#7 Taft (15-6-0) fell to both Westminster (3-1) and Choate (3-1). The Rhinos may need a big week to grab one of those playoff spots. Remaining Games: Berkshire (Wednesday), Hotchkiss (Saturday).

Defending D1 champ and #8 New Hampton (20-7-1) is on the bubble. The Huskies beat Dexter Southfield (3-1) and Kents Hill (7-0) and were tied by Northfield (2-2). Remaining Games: Kimball Union (Wednesday), Lakes Region Touranment (Friday).

#9 BB&N (14-8-2) suffered that tough loss to Tabor, but responded with big wins over Lawrence Academy (4-1) and St. Mark’s (4-0). Remaining Games: Middlesex (Wednesday), Thayer (Friday), Williston (Saturday).

New to this week’s rankings at #10 is Milton Academy (11-6-1), who have now won 10 of 12 after wins over St. Mark’s (1-0), St. George’s (4-2) and Andover (2-1). Remaining Games: Pomfret (Wednesday), Nobles (Saturday).
